Heavyweight ruler Oleksandr Usyk as welcomed a potential cruiserweight super fight with Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez but with one stipulation.
The Ukrainian currently holds three heavyweight titles after defeating Anthony Joshua in September with a potential unification against Tyson Fury also lingering attractively in the background.
However, given Canelo’s intentions on conquering the cruiserweight division next on his wish list it as drawn the attention of its previous king who is more than willing to accommodate any request should it cross his path.
Any fight will depend on one condition, Usyk added: “on condition that I still have my heavyweight belts because I’ll go back there later.”
Before you get too excited, The contest is unlikely to happen until the back end of 2022 with Usyk scheduled to defend his titles against Anthony Joshua in the rematch.
