Learning that he had the fundamentals to be a boxer Shawn Cameron serving in the military at the time decided that he would try his hand to make certain in a few contests which had his opponents often looking up at the arena lights thinking they had been hit by a Mack Truck.

On leaving his Military ties behind and returning to Brooklyn and in particular Gleasons gym which are both known to home some of boxing’s brightest talents this is where Shawn found a perfect fit for his aggressive style to where he immediately started to hone his skills and with every passing amateur tournament it brought titles, medals and more than a few raised eyebrows.

Now a fully fledged professional Cam is taking every day as it comes, never looking to far ahead of himself and setting his sole target on getting as many fights under his belt as possible and to enjoy the ride to bigger and better things

The Mohegan Sun Arena, Uncasville, CT -It was the second successive visit to the Mohogan Sun Arena, both times leaving a bitter taste for Junior Middleweight Shawn Cameron who was stopped in eight by the tough Madiyar Ashkeyev.

A nasty clash of heads early in the contest left Ashkeyev with a cut above the eye whilst Cameron fared on better, coming off with blurred vision to his left eye.

Always the warrior Cameron hung in until the eighth but a mixture of a very good fighter in front of him and limited vision left all in agreement that the fight should be waved off.
