Jessie like his older brother Jose is known to the more avid reader of TopClassBoxing from his various interviews throughout the years with us.
We have since followed the progress of the young Californian closely, sometimes I have to admit with frustration that he hasn’t progressed in the way in which we had initially envisaged, this I am glad to say is about to change.
Scoring his first knockout since 2013 over Luis Joel Gonzalez on a recent Thompson Boxing Promotions fight card, Jessie looked rejuvenated and focused on taking back control of his destiny, the look of a man who fully intends to take this opportunity which has been granted to him.
Nothing would please us more to see these two brothers make a dent in the division with exciting times just around the corner.

LATEST FIGHT REPORT
In the co-feature, junior welterweight Jessie Roman (21-3, 10 KOs) of Santa Ana, Calif. knocked out Puerto Rico’s Luis Joel Gonzalez (11-5-1, 6 KOs) in the fifth round (1:50) of their scheduled 8-rounder.
Roman came out aggressive and by the fourth round he managed to score two knockdowns, which would later set the stage for his knockout win.
In the fifth, Roman attacked the body with left hooks. He landed back-to-back body shots with the second one ending Gonzalez’s night.
“I just kept attacking and never let him relax,” said Jessie Roman. “After the fourth round, I knew I would be able to knock him out.”
