In an ugly affair of a contest, it wasn’t until the 5th round that the fight opened up, much to the excitement of fight fans who had been very vocal in their booing up until that point.

Predictably, Jake Paul got on his bike from the opener whilst occasionally firing off the jab mixed with a counter right hand. Anthony Joshua stalked but was left to look frustrated as the rounds wore on.

On many an occasion, the two fighters found themselves on the canvas as Paul mimicked the wrestling nature of his WWE brother.

In the fifth, Joshua finally found a more stationary target, a body shot bringing the first knockdown of the contest. From that point on, the writing was on the wall for fans expecting an upset.

A 1-2 combination dropped Paul for the second time in a dominant round from the Brit.

The right hand was now finding its target with regularity, dropping Paul a further two times in the sixth, the latter breaking the jaw of the American, bringing an end to the contest.

“Jake Paul has done really well tonight. I want to give him his props, he got up, time and time again,” Joshua said about his opponent.

“wasn’t the best performance, It took a bit longer than expected. But the right hand finally found the destination.”

Meanwhile, Paul said: “I’m feeling good, that was fun. I love this sport. I gave it my all, It’s f****** crazy. I had a blast.

“I got my ass beat, but that’s what this sport is about. I’mma (going to) come back and keep on winning.”

He added: “I just got tired to be honest. He did amazing and hits really hard.”
