David Benavidez put three-time title challenger Anthony Yarde to the sword in seven rounds on Saturday night in Riyadh.

Yarde was purportedly to be a stern challenge for “The Mexican Monster” but for round after round, Benavidez turned the screw until the seventh, Yarde was dropped to the canvas, a stray shot landing on a downed Englishman which brought a point deduction. It became academic as a combination brought the referee in to stop the fight.

Devin Haney schooled WBO Welterweight champion Brian Norman Jr for twelve rounds, dropping the champion in the second round. The scores mirrored the domination by 114-113, 117-110, 116-111.

It’s not a case of who will beat Jesse “Bam” Rodriguez, but more than who can give him a fight? On the nights undercard, he dominated Fernando “Puma” Martinez from start to finish.

Rodriguez broke down Martinez from the opener, before a counter left put a full stop to the contest in the tenth at 1:25.
