Devin Haney, the WBC super lightweight champion, tipped the scales at 140 pounds, while Ryan Garcia, the challenger, exceeded the limit by 3.2 pounds, registering at 143.2. Garcia’s contractual agreement entails paying Haney $1.5 million, equating to $500,000 per pound. Despite Garcia’s potential victory over Haney, he will not claim the WBC title.

In response, Golden Boy issued a statement “Ryan has weighed-in over his contractual weight. He will honor the handshake made at the final press conference yesterday. We have a fight.”
