Linares albeit way past his prime was game throughout, pressing the action looking for the big shots that brought him glory in the past but Caterall was wise to the threat, content to fight off the back foot and jab his way to a comfortable decision on the scorecards by 117-111, 116-112, 116-112.

In a MASSIVE upset, Giovani “Gallo de Oro” Santillan (32-0, 17 KOs) knocked out Alexis “Lex” Rocha (23-2, 15 KOs) in round six on Saturday night at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, California.

It was a upset to some but those who have followed Santillan from the beginning of his career, not so much,

Santillan annihilated Rocha, beating him up and dropping him twice in the fifth before the mercy of the referee intervened to stop the contest in the sixth following the third knockdown of the night.

In the co-feature bout, Los Angeles’s John “Scrappy” Ramirez (13-0, 9 KOs) scored a fourth-round knockout over Ronal Batista (15-4, 9 KOs) a WBA super flyweight title eliminator.

A left hook to the body dropped Batista in the fourth, then Ramirez dropped him again with a right hand before referee Jack Reiss stopped the fight at 2:33.
