Three-division world champion Naoya “Monster” Inoue (25-0, 22 KOs) stopped the now former WBC / WBO Super Bantamweight champion Stephen Fulton (21-1, 8 KOs) in the eighth round on Tuesday night at Ariake Arena, Koto-Ku, Tokyo, Japan.

Inoue immediately seized his moment when it arose, a left hook dropped the champion before finishing with a flurry of shots that left the referee with no option but to call an halt to the action. Time was 1:14.

Cuban hitman WBO featherweight champion Robeisy Ramirez (13-1, 8 KOs) had too much for the outgunned Satoshi Shimizu (11-2, 10 KOs) as the nights co-main event.

Ramirez showcased his obvious talents to the onlooking Japanese crowd with a mixture of quickness of hand and foot allowing him to dictate the pace of the bout. Shimizu to his credit tried at intervals to fight fire with fire but Ramirez taking advantage of such a moment, landed a succession of uppercuts that dropped Shimizu to the canvas in the fifth. Blood running freely from his nose, the Japanese fighter returned to his feet only to find an onslaught of offence from the Cuban who got his deserved stoppage shortly thereafter.
