Mercito “No Mercy” Gesta (34-3-3, 17 KOs) took a split decision victory over former world champion Joseph “JoJo” Diaz, Jr. (32-4-1, 15 KOs) on Saturday night at the Walter Pyramid in Long Beach, California.
Gesta was generally the busier fighter, working behind his jab to keep Diaz from setting his feet. Diaz landed the harder shots in the contest but it wasnt enough to sway two of the judges who scored it 99-91 Gesta, 98-92 Gesta whilst the other had it handily to Diaz by 97-93.

In an all out war, welterweight Cyrus Pattinson (6-0, 4 KOs) outlasted Chris Jenkins (23-7-3, 8 KOs) who succumbed to an onslaught in the ninth with his corner throwing in the towel to claim the vacant English welterweight title on Saturday night at the Utilita Arena in Newcastle, England.
Heavyweight Jarrell “Big Baby” Miller (26-0-1, 22 KOs) stopped former world champion Lucas “Big Daddy” Browne (31-4, 27 KOs) in the sixth round on Saturday night at the Agenda Arena in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Both came with expectations of an early finish, swinging for the fences in the hope of an home run. Miller finally making a dent in the resolve of Browne, battering him to the canvas in the sixth to find the stoppage. Time was 2:33.
Cruiserweight Soslan “Cobra” Asbarov (4-0, 1 KO) edged Brandon “Bulletproof” Glanton (17-2, 14 KOs) via majority decision. The fight took a while to get going but Asbarov had done enough by the latter stages of the bout to take home the judges decision regardless of a late push from Glanton.
Super featherweight Jono “King Kong” Carroll (24-2-1, 7 KOs) outscored three-time world title challenger Miguel “The Scorpion” Marriaga (30-7, 26 KOs). Scores were 100-90, 99-91, 98-92.
