Heavyweight “Juggernaut” Joe Joyce (15-0, 14 KOs) passed the test of former world champion Joseph Parker (30-3, 21 KOs) with flying colours to knockout the New Zealander in the eleventh round to claim the WBO interim heavyweight title on Saturday night at the AO Arena in Manchester, England.
Joyce used a superb jab to repeatedly find its target whilst the high work rate appeared to be winning the middle rounds, Parker kept him honest with an array of hard shots landed but Joyce closed the show brilliantly in the eleventh, dropping Parker with a left hook for the full count. Time was 1:03.
