Super Middleweight Edgar Berlanga (19-0, 16 KOs) for the third consecutive time in his career was made to go the distance in gaining victory over Steve Rolls (21-2, 12 KOs) on Saturday night inside Madison Square Garden’s Theater in New York City.
Berlanga was made to work for the win, always looking for that one shot to end the contest which could be construed as one dimensional. The judges were all in agreement of a winner with scores of 96-94, 97-93, 97-93.
Boxing brightest star Junior middleweight Xander Zayas (13-0, 9 KOs) was never in danger of losing his unbeaten record with a shutout win over spoiler Quincy LaVallais (12-3-1, 7 KOs). scores at the end of the contest were 80-71, 80-72, 80-72.
Unbeaten junior welterweight John “El Terrible” Bauza (17-0, 7 KOs) was given a freight by veteran Tony “Lightning” Luis (29-5, 10 KOs) he did however win handily on the judges scorecards by scores of 80-72, 79-73, 78-74.
