The fight produced a display / knockout which will most certainly be talked about for a long time to come. Leigh Wood (26-2, 16 KOs) enthralled all with a come from behind knockout of Michael Conlan (16-1, 8 KOs) in the twelfth round on Saturday night at the Motorpoint Arena in Nottingham, England.

The contests opener witnessed Conlan heavily drop Wood to the canvas, Wood got to his feet but was saved by the bell.

Conlan generally outboxed Wood thereafter, ahead on the judges scorecards the fight was turned on its head. Wood known for being dangerous late in the fight produced another sublime albeit brutal finish.

Wood was accredited with a knockdown in the eleventh before making certain of victory, blasting Conlan through the ropes in the twelfth with a mixture of adulation and concern etched on the faces of all who watched.

“I hit him with everything, but he’s so tough,” Wood said. “I’m just thinking about Mick now. It was a bad knockout.”

Conlan was taken from the ring on a stretcher but later tweeted the following:
