Former three-division world champion Vasiliy Lomachenko (16-2, 11 KOs) was back to showing the world why he is still considered the best in the division with a one-sided twelve round unanimous decision victory over former world champion Richard Commey (30-4, 27 KOs) on Saturday night at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Lomachenko systemically outboxed Commey, putting the icing on the cake with a knockdown in the seventh on route to scores of 117-110, 119-108, 119-108.

In the night’s undercard, Unbeaten heavyweight Jared “The Real Big Baby” Anderson (11-0, 11 KOs) put to bed the challenge of Oleksandr Teslenko (17-2, 13 KOs) in the second round courtesy of a massive right hand. Time was 1:33.

Keyshawn Davis (4-0, 3 KOs) continued to impress, looking every inch the champion of the future with the second round annihilation of Jose Zaragoza (8-4-1, 2 KOs). Time was 2:51.

Middleweight prospect Nico Ali Walsh (3-0, 2 KOs), whose grandfather casts a very wide shadow in the form of “The Greatest,” Muhammad Ali, won a four-round majority decision over Reyes Sanchez (6-1, 2 KOs). Scores were 38-38, 40-36, 39-37.

Xander Zayas (12-0, 9 KOs) was in a rush to show the world his abilities, needing just one round to dispose of Alessio Mastronunzio (9-2, 3 KOs). Time was 2:52.

WBC bantamweight champion Nonito Donaire (42-6, 28 KOs) proved there is life in the old dog yet as he stopped previously unbeaten Reymart Gaballo (24-1, 20 KOs) in the fourth round at the Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California. Donaire landed his now famed left hook to the body which rendered Gaballo disarmed of his facilities as the bout was waved off at 2:59 of the fourth.

Welterweight Conor “The Destroyer” Benn (20-0, 13 KOs) scored a fourth-round knockout over former WBO junior welter champion Chris Algieri (25-4, 9 KOs) at the M&S Bank Arena in Liverpool, England. Benn was in a mood to make a statement which is precisely what he did, dropping Algieri in the second before knocking him out cold in the fourth. Time was 2:58.

Undisputed female welterweight champion Katie Taylor (20-0, 6 KOs) remained unbeaten in successfully defending her WBC, WBA, IBF, and WBO titles with a decision victory over WBA mandatory challenger Firuza Sharipova (14-2, 8 KOs). Scores were 98-92, 97-92 96-93.

Robbie Davies Jr (22-3, 15 KOs) scored one of the best wins to date with the second-round knockout of “Hammerin’” Hank Lundy (31-9-1, 14 KOs).

Super featherweight Joe ‘The Welsh Wizard’ Cordina (14-0, 8 KOs) cruised to a decision victory over Miko Khatchatryan (13-1, 7 KOs). Scores were 100-90, 98-92, 98-92

WBA light heavyweight champion Dimitry Bivol (19-0, 11 KOs) laboured to a twelve round unanimous decision against Umar Salamov (26-2, 19 KOs) at the Uralets Arena in Ekaterinburg, Russia. Bivol was never in danger of losing the grip he has on the title but was far from impressive. Scores were 119-109, 118-109, 118-110.
