Light middleweight Tim Tszyu (17-0, 13 KOs) was evidently in a rush on Wednesday night, needing just a round to dispose of Bowyn Morgan (21-2, 11 KOs) at the BankWest Stadium in Parramatta, NSW, Australia. Tszyu made the breakthrough courtesy of a barrage of shots, dropping Morgan to the canvas midway through the round. Morgan managed to get upright but it was temporary as Tszyu unleashed a huge right hand to end proceedings.
“I only want one thing, a world title, here in Australia,” said Tszyu.
On the undercard, Heavyweight Paul Gallen (10-0-1, 5 KOs) decisioned former UFC star Mark Hunt (0-2-1) over six rounds. Scores 58-56, 58-56, 59-55.
