TYSON-JONES JR AGREE TO EXHIBITION BOUT SCHEDULED FOR SEPTEMBER

The two legendary figures of Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr nearly crossed paths in the past but are now on a collision course for September in an eight round exhibition bout in Los Angeles.

54-Year-old Tyson (50-6) was last seen in a boxing ring on the losing end of stoppage to Kevin McBride whilst Jones (66-9) fared better in a decision win over Scott Sigmon in 2018.

“I’ve been trying to enjoy retirement, but people don’t seem to want to let me retire,” said Jones. “They keep calling me, telling me that Mike wants to come back, and that you’d be a great opponent for Mike.

“We always wanted to see it, but I would’ve preferred it back then. Tyson is a hell of a specimen still. Still a problem to deal with. But at the same time, life is life, you only live once. You want to know what it’s like, you go in there and see. You still gotta see it.”

The bout will be broadcast on pay-per-view as well as multi-media platform, Triller.

I've been in the boxing industry for over 16 years but been a fan for almost double that figure. I'm the proud owner of TopClassBoxing which continues to go from strength to strength as we strive to give fight fans a voice to be heard amongst the community. I've also had several articles published by reputable magazines and you can usually catch me around ringside.
