EXCLUSIVE: FRANCISCO JAVIER MARTINEZ RETURNS THIS SATURDAY ON HOOKER-RAMIREZ CARD – DISCUSSES STANDOUT AMATEUR CAREER AND MORE….

Dallas’ Francisco Javier Martinez is all set to put on a show for his hometown crowd, as he features on the undercard of the highly anticipated clash between Jose Ramirez and Maurice Hooker.

Martinez has amassed a record of 5-0 since turning professional and recently linked up with managerial standouts Victory Sports and Entertainment headed up by Mike Leanardi and Rick Torres. The former amateur standout opened up on his amateur career and elaborated on what fight fans can expect from him this coming weekend in Dallas.

Martinez said, “Firstly thank you to my management team at Victory Sports and Entertainment for getting me this opportunity. I am so grateful to be able to fight in front of my hometown fans on a massive Matchroom Boxing show. So I’d like to thank Eddie Hearn and his team for having me on the show as well.

“I boxed all the best amateurs in the world in both the World Series of Boxing and tournaments such as the Pan-American Games. I boxed quality operators like Michael Conlan and I am confident that I’m at that level and will emulate my amateur success into the professional ranks.”

Martinez continued as he discussed what fans can expect from him this coming weekend. He said, “Boxing fans who haven’t seen me before can expect action. I boxed at an elite level as an amateur so I can box, but I am all about giving people value for money and that is what I’m going to do this weekend.”

The Matchroom show in Texas is topped by Maurice Hooker and Jose Ramirez as the pair square off for the WBO and WBC world super lightweight titles whilst also put their undefeated records on the line this Saturday evening in the Lone Star state. Former Team USA standout Martinez gave his take on Saturday nights main event.

The Texan said, “It’s going to be a great fight between two fantastic fighters. I don’t really like making predictions on fights as I respect both fighters but I believe it’s going to be a brilliant fight and a great event for Texas boxing as a whole.”
