Former Heavyweight Champion Kubrat Pulev has been ordered to attend a sexual harassment prevention class and has been hit with a £2000 fine after he was suspended until July by the California State Athletic Commission for grabbing a female broadcaster’s face and kissing her on the lips during a post-fight interview.
Pulev will need to fulfil the criteria of the punishment before he will be sanctioned to fight in California as the testimoney was read out by a tearful Miss Jennifer Ravalo.
The former heavyweight champion’s only loss in 28 contests came against Wladimir Klitschko in 2014 but this one could be his most costly.
Pulev, grabbed Jennifer Ravalo’s face and kissed her in the middle of a live interview moments after knocking out Bogdan Dinu in the seventh round in Costa Mesa, California.
Pulev apologised for his actions with his attorneys saying that it was a case of getting caught in the moment following his victory and that he ‘didnt have his witts about him’
Pulev’s attorney’s also argued that the reporter didn’t look too upset with the actions as she attended the post-fight celebtrations with the boxer later that night.
Ravalo went on to also claim that Pulev had grabbed her buttocks off-camera and that the fighter hadnt apologised since the incident.
‘I did not want him to kiss me,’ Ravalo said.
