Amanda Serrano was crowned a seven-weight world champion and has wasted no time in calling out Irish sensation Katie Taylor.
Serrano dismantled Eva Voraberger in just 35 seconds to win by knockout to gain the vacant WBO Female super-flyweight crown at Madison Square Garden, New York.
Serrano has her eyes on WBO champion Raging Raja next but has her eyes set on Taylor further on down the line, the 32-year-old from Bray who previously defeated her sister Cindy in Boston, back in October.
Speaking on current events Serrano has been quoted as saying “I think seven is good and I will probably want to keep this one for a while and defend this against the so-called real champion Raja… maybe she won’t take the fight,”
“If that fight comes, I hope she is ready for it, but right now I have other sights on my mind. But she better be ready for me.”
Serrano’s first world title was the WBO lightweight title now belonging to current belt holder Taylor – who has already called her out – and has gone up to super-lightweight to win an incredible seven world titles in different weight divisions.
‘The Real Deal’ proved her vicious body shots were enough to do the damage against the 28-year-old Austrian to send her into the history books, leaving her just one behind the future Hall of Famer, Manny Pacquiao, who has been a champion in eight separate divisions, who is fresh off a easy victory over Adrien Broner at the weekend.
