Former Undisputed Heavyweight World Champion Tyson Fury will have the legendary trainer Freddie Roach in his corner when he fights Deontay Wilder.
Fury has been training at Roach’s Wild Card gym in Los Angeles ahead of his world title challenge, taking the opportunity to ask Roach to be his cut man for his December 1st encounter.
“He asked me if I’d work in his corner,” Roach told SI.com . “He asked me if I could do cuts. I said, ‘Yeah, I have guys better than me though.’
“He said, ‘Do you know what you’re doing?’ And I said, ‘Of course I do, I have everything you need.’ So I’m the cut man.”
Roach will join head trainer Ben Davison in the corner, adding much-needed experience to the team.
