Heavyweight Kubrat Pulev (26-1, 13 KOs) moved into pole position for a shot a the IBF title with a decision win over Hughie Fury (21-2, 11 KOs) at the Arena Armeec in Sofia, Bulgaria.
The fight wasn’t aesthetically pleasing with a lot of holding throughout but Pulev was adjudged to have landed the cleaner shots whilst generally in control for the duration. There was however a sticky moment for the former titleholder in the eighth where Fury managed to land a right hand that momentarily rocked him but Pulev soon shook off the after effects and made sure to send his fans home happy as the judges scored the contest 117-111, 118-110, 115-113.
