In a snoozer, WBO bantamweight champion Zolani Tete (25-3, 21 KOs) scored a twelve round unanimous decision over Mikhail Aloyan (4-1, 0 KOs) in their WBSS bantamweight quarter-final on Saturday night at the Ekaterinburg Expo in Ekaterinburg, Russia. In a foul-filled hugfest which had a deducted point for each man, Tete took the scorecards by 114-111, 114-111, 114-110.
Love must have been in the air in Russia because as was the case in the main event Andrew “The Beast” Tabiti (17-0, 13 KOs) held on tightly frequently to Ruslan Fayfer (23-1, 16 KOs) in scoring a unanimous decision verdict by 116-111, 115-112, 114-113. The win meant that Tabiti advances in the WBSS Cruiserweight format.
