Former Olympic Silver Medallist Shakur Stevenson (8-0, 4 KOs) will face the tough former world title challenger Viorel Simion on the fight card headlined by Terence Crawford who will be defending his title against Jose Benavidez Jr at the CHI Health Center in Omaha, Nebraska.
Stevenson is one of boxing’s best prospects who was due to face Duarn Vue in his first scheduled 10-rounder, however, Vue withdrew because of a detached retina.
Simion should provide a stern test for Stevenson, a fighter who the UK fight fans will know from his losses to Former World champions Lee Selby and Scott Quigg
He hasn’t fought since his loss to Quigg in 2017, but regardless Top Ranks vice president Carl Moretti told ESPN “He will test Shakur Stevenson from the opening bell to the final bell, Shakur has trained to go 10 rounds, and he’ll need it.”
