Former WBC Welterweight champion Carlos Baldomir faces 20 years in jail after being indicted in Argentina for allegedly sexually molesting his own daughter for nearly a decade.
Baldomir, 47, was being investigated since October 29th 2016 after a complaint from the girl’s mother surfaced, on December 26, 2017, Baldomir was officially charged as the perpetrator of the crimes.
During the investigation phase, the minor was interviewed and – “according to the psychologists who spoke with her, the girl made a logical and coherent story,” said the prosecutor.
The former world champion retired from boxing in 2014 after losing his last three from four encounters.
“The facts began being investigated by prosecutors Omar De Pedro and María Lucila Nuzzo, and then the file was transferred to the Special Prosecutor’s Unit for Gender, Family and Sexual Violence,” the prosecutor said.
“The crimes began to be committed in 2008 when the girl was less than seven years old. According to the story of the victim, they occurred in the house she shared with her father and in which the mother of the minor and other siblings lived in the city of Santa Fe. The girl explained that the abuses were maintained over time and also consumed in other places. On at least two occasions, they occurred while the victim and her father were moving in a car, and even in the presence of other people.”
