The IBF Welterweight title encounter followed the script as Dallas’ Errol “The Truth” Spence (25-0, 21 KOs) folded Carlos Ocampo (22-1, 13 KOs) with two harrowing body shots in the night’s opener to seal the deal.

In the night’s co-main event, WBA Super Bantamweight champion Daniel Roman (24-2-1, 9 KOs) met fire with fire as he defended his title with a unanimous decision victory over Moises ”Chucky” Flores (25-1, 17 KOs).

Flores omitted the opportunity to capture the title, coming in over the weight limit but even so was on the receiving end of the two-handed attack from the champion.

Beforehand the question was how Roman would handle the pressure of Flores, on the night he gave us a resounding answer, mixing shots to the head and body to take scores from the judges of 16-112, 118-110, 120-108.

2016 Olympian Josh Kelly (7-0, 5 KOs) stock continues to rise where at the Metro Radio Arena in Newcastle, England he dethroned Commonwealth welterweight beltholder Kris George (14-2, 8 KOs) before the eighth round. 

Kelly had a hard act to follow as British lightweight titleholder Lewis Ritson (16-0, 10 KOs) was the talk of social media as he annihilated previously unbeaten Paul Hyland Jr (18-1, 7 KOs) in one round

Meanwhile earlier on the undercard Super bantamweight Gavin McDonnell (20-1-2, 5 KOs) retained his WBC international belt crown with a twelve round unanimous decision over former world champion Stuart Hall (21-7-2, 7 KOs). Scores were 115-113, 117-111, 117-111.

Former three-division world champion Ricky Burns (42-7-1, 15 KOs) snapped his losing streak by stopping Ivan Njegac (10-6, 3 KOs) after the fourth.
