Two long years from stepping into a boxing ring, Amir Khan (32-4, 20 KOs) needed just 39 seconds to become reacquainted as he annihilated Phil Lo Greco (28-4, 15 KOs) in quick fashion at the Echo Arena in Liverpool, England.
The lightening hand speed, a trademark of Khan’s was there for all to see, landing shot after shot before a right hand folded Lo Greco to the canvas. The Canadian made it to his feet but was met with more blistering shots as referee Victor Loughlin waved the fight off.
“I’ve been out of the ring for two years but I’ve still been busy in the gym,” said Khan afterward. “I was ready for 12 rounds. I came here to do a job and I done it in style. Liverpool you was great tonight, thank you! Amir Khan is back!
“I’m going to give the U.K fans the biggest fights possible. I want to become a world champion again”
“The weight is an issue with Kell, I’m a 147lb fighter. I will fight and beat Kell Brook and the world knows it.
“Brook’s been living off my name for a long time. I came and signed with Matchroom, I’m the one chasing Kell.”
