Carl Frampton (25-1, 14 KOs) boxed his way to a decision win over Nonito Donaire (38-4, 24 KOs) on Saturday night at the SSE Arena in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
Frampton for much of the contest was able to dictate the action with injuries to both eyes of Donaire aiding him in capturing the WBO interim Featherweight title.
Albeit wide on the scorecards the contest wasn’t without its drama, Donaire showing he still possesses power as he rocked Frampton on a number of occasions, but in the end, it wasn’t enough as all three judges scored the contest 117-111.
