1984 Olympic Gold Medalist Paul Gonzales is facing a felony relating to suspected lewd acts on a child officials said Thursday.

Gonzales who stepped to the top of the podium in 1984 for Team USA in Los Angeles, faces eight felony counts, including four lewd acts on a child according to the LA County Sheriffs Dept.

Gonzalez since his retirement in 1991 has been working for the county Parks and recreation department, where he has been head boxing coach at the Eddie Heredia boxing club for the last 10 years.
