WBA light heavyweight champion Dimtry Bivol (12-0, 10 KOs) was in no mood to allow the defence of his title to go any further than the first round against WBA #11 rated Trent Broadhurst (20-2, 12 KOs). A damaging right hand sealing the victory at the Salle Medecin in Monte Carlo, Monaco.
WBA Bantamweight champion Jamie McDonnell (29-2-1, 13 KOs) retained his title via a three-round “no decision” in his rematch with Liborio Solis (25-5-1, 11 KOs). McDonnell sustained a bad cut over his left eye following a clash of heads which halted proceedings. McDonnell announced afterwards that he will be leaving the division.
Former World Champion Scott Quigg (34-1-2, 25 KOs) scored a sixth round stoppage over Oleg Yefimovych (29-3-1, 16 KOs) in an eliminator for the WBA Featherweight title. Quigg was always in command of the bout, overpowering Yefimovych for the majority of the six-round duration.
Unbeaten European heavyweight champion Agit Kabayel (17-0, 12 KOs) retained his unbeaten run with his career’s biggest scalp in Dereck “Del Boy” Chisora (27-8, 19 KOs), Kabayel took a majority decision from the judges on the night raising a few eyebrows with the performance in the process, outworking the fancied Chisora throughout.
