Unbeaten Mexican Luis Nery (24-0, 18 KOs) captured the WBC Bantamweight title with the fourth round stoppage of former ruler Shinsuke Yamanaka (27-1-2, 19 KOs) in Kyoto, Japan on Tuesday.

Nery seized the opportunity to dethrone Yamanaka who was looking to make the thirteenth defence of his title when disaster struck for the Japanese fighter, Nery swarming the champion with shots that noticeably wobbled Yamanaka before his corner saved him from any more punishment.
